Shakespeare will be turning 453 this month and we are in the mood to celebrate! Join Nashville Shakes for this beloved annual tradition, as we celebrate the birthday of the Bard with an afternoon of festivites.

From music to snacks to the popular Biggest Balcony Scene Ever, there's something for everyone— William Shakespeare himself will even be in attendance!

Join us at 12 pm in the Amphitheatre (or inside the Bennett Campus Center if it’s raining).

Here's a taste of what to expect:

  • Come dressed in your Shakespeare best! Prizes will be given to our favorite costumed Romeos and Juliets.

  • The Eighth Annual Biggest Balcony Scene Ever will take place at 1:30 pm. If you've always dreamed of playing Romeo or Juliet, here's your chance! Everyone present will play Romeo or Juliet in a mass recitation of the famous balcony scene. Balcony Scene ScriptDownload your edited script here. We'll also have some printed copies on hand.

  • Musical performances from recent NSF collaborators: TBA

  • Strut your Shakespeare during Shakespeare Karaoke! Have you got a fun monologue or scene? Do you improv Shakespeare with your friends? Have you written a song about Shakespeare? We want you to perform!

  • And ... birthday cupcakes and other treats! (While supplies last)

We'll see you there!
