In its work, the Nashville Shakespeare Festival strives to bring the world of theatre to the students of the Middle Tennessee area. In-school workshops, summer programs, and other in-depth experiences are offered by the Festival to the students of the area in order that more and more of today's young people can have the opportunity to be exposed to the artistic world of the theatrical universe. Expansion of young minds is more than a hope. Broadening the horizon of young peoples' experiences is not just an idea. For the Nashville Shakespeare Festival, these things are a reality that shall, hopefully, continue to grow.

These 15 talented teens were selected by audition to receive intensive Shakespearean actor training then rehearse and perform alongside professional actors in the 2007 Shakespeare in the Park production of The Merry Wives of Windsor, as well as play principal roles in their own production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona.
The 2007 Apprentice Company and the production of The Two Gentlemen of Verona, which features the apprentice company members in principal roles, is made possible in part by the generous donation of Byron and Beth Smith. |
