Shakespeare Education Experience Tour
The Nashville Shakespeare Festival brings PROFESSIONAL SHAKESPEARE directly to your school or venue!
In 1992, responding to the need for an arts-in-education program in the Metropolitan Nashville Public Schools, the Nashville Shakespeare Festival developed a series of touring versions of Shakespeare’s best-known works. Since then, these abridged productions tour to middle and high schools throughout the region as well as colleges and universities, libraries, and other venues. To accompany the performance, The Nashville Shakespeare Festival’s company of professional actors and teaching artists can also provide dynamic in-classroom workshops as well as Q&A sessions that deepen students’ understanding of the text and the production.

This adapted production showcases themes of honor, friendship, ambition, power, loyalty, betrayal, freedom and fate.

Teacher Testimonials
“...You could see lightbulbs going off in student brains as they watched and connected the performances to what they had read. The crowd work and personality of the actors shone through, giving an experience that cannot be duplicated by a performance on a screen. For most of our students, it was the first play they had ever seen live, and has sparked their interest in live performance.”
“Shakespeare is meant to be seen, not just read. I am thankful for the professionalism and the quick response from NSF made the experience feel very personal. I am hoping to use NSF more in the future!”
“The students were engaged even more than they expected. My students who have been involved in drama appreciated the high level of acting; my students who are not particularly interested in Shakespeare found the play engaging and funny.”
